Arts & Interests Fundraising Ideas

Give Back Night: Many restaurants will donate a percentage of their proceeds to an area nonprofit.

Dinner Party: Host a dinner with a tablet set up for your guests to donate online while at the event.

Holiday Party: In lieu of gifts to exchange, ask your guests to make a contribution to your Buddy Walk team.

Mixology Class: Get together with your closest friends and learn how to make your favorite drink(s)!

Lemonade Stand/Bake Sale: Lemonade stands and bake sales are great ways to raise funds. Both are easy to put together and, with a little extra effort, you can turn yours into a fun event.

Digital Happy Hour: Learn how to make cocktails at home. All “tips” (donations) will go to your Buddy Walk team.  Or organize a zoom with your buddies, select a themed drink and talk about the Buddy Walk.  Pitch your team, encourage sign ups and donations.

Beginner Music Lesson: Do you play an instrument? Offer to teach a class and donate the profits or a portion of your earnings.

Paint and Sip Class: Many studios offer a give back night once a month to the nonprofit of your choice.

Flower Arranging Class: Learn how to create a vibrant arrangement for any season with this unique event.  Put a spin on it and only use the favorite colors of your loved one with Down syndrome, or use the Buddy Walk colors.

Holiday Card-Making Class: Host a card-making class for your favorite holiday! Get into the spirit by donating to your favorite cause.

Online Shopping: There are apps out there where you can earn cash on things that you are already buying.

Host an Online Auction: Invite friends to your custom auction website and all proceeds will go to your Buddy Walk team!

Read-a-thon or Book-a-thon: Participants asks their friends and family to support them by the book or by the minute. Be a Super Reader!

Car Wash Fundraiser: A car wash fundraiser is a proven money maker in virtually every community. All you need are willing volunteers, a high-traffic location with good visibility, and some attention-getting signs!
