Say hello to the 'Joe' in TriforJoe

We will be Tri-ing for Joe on May 28th at Coney Island.

TriForJoe is a sprint distance Triathlon, Duathlon, a 5K run/walk, and kids Fun Run.^{(this is a USA Triathlon sanctionied event)}

In August of 2003 Tom and Jennifer Gerstle had a little boy they named Joe.

Joe was born with Down syndrome and he faced the challenges that many children with Down syndrome face; like open heart surgery to repair a genetic heart defect. Joe is now a happy, healthy growing boy with more charm than should be allowed!

Tom and Jennifer created the TriForJoe in honor of their son and to benefit the DSAGC in support of the services provided for people with Down syndrome and their families.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication from the Gerstles this event is now in its 6th year. It is not only a quality Triathlon/Duathlon and 5K, but an event that supports the programs of the DSAGC, AND a celebration of the extraordinary lives of individuals like Joe.
